De microporeuze isolatiekern bestaat uit een ondoorzichtig gemaakt mengsel van pyrogeen silica met een filamentversterking. De steekafstanden zijn in beide formaten beschikbaar op 25 mm of 50 mm, afhankelijk van de geometrie en de vereiste mate van flexibiliteit. Om CUI-verschijnselen te voorkomen en, meer in het algemeen, wanneer er een risico bestaat op contact met water of condensatie, is Siltherm Quilt ook verkrijgbaar in een hydrofobe uitvoering.
